20 

8 Zone Expansion Card  
 

The 8 zone panel contains an 8 zone expansion PCB. This will already have been set up in the factory 
and programming options for the extra zones will be enabled. This card is not present in the 2-zone or 
4-zone versions of the panel. The zone expansion PCB is not compatible with the 2-zone panel. 
 
The 8 Zone expansion card provides an additional 4 zones which converts a 4 zone Twinflex Pro panel 
to an 8 zone panel. The panel can be purchased as an 8 zone panel with this card already fitted or the 
8 zone expansion card can be purchased separately to convert an existing 4 zone panel to an 8 zone 
panel. If the 8 zone expansion card is purchased separately the interface cable and mounting screws 
are included in the kit. 
 
There are two 8 zone expansion card options available. Part number 505-0006 will provide 4 additional 
Twinflex zones and part number 505-0007 will provide 4 conventional zones. 
 
Therefore a TWINFLEX

®

pro²

 

panel fitted with an 8 zone conventional expansion card would have 

zones 1 to 4 as Twinflex zones and zones 5 to 8 as conventional zones. 
 

Note: conventional zones cannot distinguish between smoke or MCP fire singals. 

 
 

 

 

 

There is a connection using a ribbon cable from the connector 
labelled ‘Ribbon Cable to CIE’ on the expansion card to the 
connector  labelled “Expansion Connector” on the rear of the 
CIE PCB. 

The ribbon cable has a ferrite fitted at one end.
