circuit in which the circuit-to-

ground voltage exceeds 1000V

rms.

Measurement of AC power

sources with inductive loads or AC

power sources during electrical

storms may result in extremely

high-voltage, high-energy transients

that could damage the meter and

consequently expose the user to a

dangerous shock hazard.

Inspect the test leads for

damage to the insulation or exposed

metal. Replace or do not use if

suspect.

When disconnecting from a

voltage measurement, disconnect

the “hot” lead first, then the
