6.4.1 Responding to malfunctions
If the HGPPI−... detects a malfunction, it executes the follo
wing actions:
1. Stops the current positioning task. Sets the SETPOINT
position := ACTUAL position Activates the position control
2. Writes the error number in the error word of the cyclical
data and sets the bit 0 of the status word (‘fault’)
3. Compiles the extended diagnostic data and sets the
‘Diag.Ext_Diag’ bit in station status 1. This requests the
master to carry out a diagnosis.
4. Error LED flashing
As long as a malfunction is active, the HGPPI−... doesn’t
execute any commands with the exception of reset (function 1).
When a malfunction is detected, the master controller must
execute the appropriate reaction to it.
Whether a malfunction can be acknowledged in the HGPPI−...
depends on the malfunction. Hardware errors or an incor
rectly set bus address cannot be reset. In this case, the
HGPPI−... must be switched off, the cause eliminated and
the HGPPI−... switched back on.
