Checking hook wear:
it is necessary to check that the upper and
lower hooks are not worn, that there are no cracks and/or splits or
abnormal deformations and that the closure safety device on both
hooks still works properly. Check that the opening dimensions of the
hook fall within the following dimensions otherwise replace the hook.

Checking the chain lengthening:
If the chains have lengthened beyond a permitted
percentage they must all be replaced.
