5.6 Shock Frame
●
PurpNste:
The shock frame allows the operator to elevate
the patient’s legs to treat shock or for patient comfort.
●
Uste:
○
BtfNrt Uste:
Loosen or unbuckle the leg restraint.
○
TN raist,
stand at the foot end of the cot. Use both
hands to lift the shock frame until it locks in the
raised position.
○
TN lNwtr,
stand at the foot end of the cot. Lift the
shock frame slightly to support the weight, then
press the two thumb levers (Figure 13) and lower
the shock frame.
○
Afotr Uste:
Buckle and/or adjust the leg restraint.
5.7 Sidearms
●
PurpNste:
Sidearms provide patient security and comfort.
Keep the sidearms raised except when transferring a
patient to or from the cot.
●
Uste:
○
TN lNwtr,
squeeze the sidearm release handle (Figure
14) and lower the sidearm.
○
TN raist,
lift the sidearm until it locks. You do not
need to use the release handle.
Important
Do not use the sidearms to lift the cot. Sidearms are
not designed for lifting. Lift the cot only by grasping
the main frame.
