Assembling the Table
4.5 assembling the Table
1. A hex-head screw is attached to each jack for shipping.
Remove the screws from the jacks and discard. New
screws are provided in the hardware kit for the
installation (See
Hardware Provided,
page 8).
2. Measure the distance between the outside edges of the
jacks (Figure 3).
3. Measure the distance between the outside edges of the
holes in the mounting brackets on the underside of the
table top (Figure 4).
4. If the distances in Step 2 and Step 3 are not the same,
use the rubber mallet to tap the sliding mounting
bracket toward the operator end
or
drain end of the
table top. The bracket is properly adjusted when the
distance between the outside edges of the holes in the
mounting brackets equals the distance between the
outside edges of the jacks.
5. Orient the table top with the drain opposite the table-
base foot pedals. Using two or more people, lift
the table top onto the jacks, making sure the jacks
are firmly seated into the mounting bracket holes.
Adjust the position of the sliding mounting bracket if
necessary.
Notee:
If the table top does not fit on the jacks properly
after adjusting the mounting bracket position, the spacer
(Figure 4) may be out of alignment. Use the rubber mallet
to adjust the spacer position a little toward the operator
end or drain end of the table, and then readjust the sliding
mounting bracket.
6. Slide a 3/8" split lock washer and then a 3/8" flat
washer onto a 3/8" hex head cap screw (Figure 1, page
8). Hand turn the screw into the hole on the top of the
mounting bracket (Figure 5) and tighten with the 9/16"
wrench.
7. Repeat Step 5 at the opposite end of the table.
8. Place a 1/4" flat washer onto a 1/4" socket head cap
screw (Figure 1, page 8).
9. Align the hole in the metal tab of the jack cover with
the hole in the mounting bracket (Figure 5). Place the
screw through the holes and tighten with the 3/16"
Allen wrench.
10. Repeat Step 8 at the opposite end of the table.
11. Test the table by following instructions in
Inspecting
the Table
, page 13.
