protection
12.1 The environment and mobile travel
Environmentally sound use
By nature of their activities, camper users bear a
considerable responsibility towards the environ-
ment.
Therefore, you should always use your camper in
an environmentally sound manner.
Rules for environmentally sound use:
• Do not interfere with the quietude and cleanli-
ness of nature.
• Dispose of waste water, faeces and trash
properly.
• Act as a role model, so that campers are not
stereotyped as environmental polluters.
• If you plan to stay longer in cities and muni-
cipalities, please park in an area that is speci-
fically marked for trailer combinations. Find
out in advance where these areas are located.
Rules for waste water disposal:
• Only collect waste water in the built-in tanks
or, if absolutely necessary, in similarly suitable
containers!
• Never dispose of waste water in greenery or
in gullies! Street sewer lines often do not lead
to waste water treatment plants.
• Empty the waste water tank as often as
possible, even if it is not yet full (for hygienic
reasons). If possible, rinse the waste water
tank out with fresh water each time after
emptying.
Only empty the faeces tank at desig-
nated sites, never out in the open!
Disposal stations are typically locat-
ed at highway rest stops, campsites
or service stations.
