1. INTENDED USE

This device is only for trimming grass, vegetation, undergrowth and weeds in the domestic area. The

device is designed for domestic use. It is not intended for continuous professional use. Any other use that

is not expressly permitted in this manual may result in damage to the device and constitute a serious

danger to the user.
This device is designed for use by adults. Children and those unfamiliar with this manual should not use

this device. The user is responsible for accidents or damage caused to people or their property. The

manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use or improper handling.

2. IMPORTANT SAFE OPERATION PRACTICES

Training

Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of the trimmer.

Preparation

a) Warning: never allow people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the trimmer; never allow children to

use the trimmer.

b) Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator.

c) Never trim while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.

d) Wear safety glasses or goggles at all times when operating the trimmer.

e) Wear ear protection.

f) While operating the trimmer, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. Do not operate the

trimmer when barefoot or wearing open sandals.

g) Thoroughly inspect the area where the trimmer is to be used and remove all objects which may be

thrown by the trimmer.

h) WARNING: Fuel is highly flammable:

- Store fuel in containers specifically designed for this purpose.

- Refuel outdoors only and do not smoke while refueling.

- Add fuel before starting the engine. Never remove the cap of the fuel tank or add fuel while the

engine is running or when the engine is hot.

- If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine but move the trimmer away from the area of

spillage and avoid creating any source of ignition until fuel vapors have dissipated.

- Replace all fuel tanks and container caps securely.

i) Replace faulty silencers.

j) Before using, always visually inspect to see that the cutting elements and cutting means are not worn or

damaged. Replace worn or damaged cutting elements in sets to preserve balance.

Operation

a) Do not operate the engine in a confined space where dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can collect.

b) Trim only in daylight or in good artificial light.

c) Avoid operating the trimmer in wet grass, or take additional precautions to avoid slipping.

d) Always be sure of your footing on slopes.

e) Walk, never run.

f) Trim across the face of slopes, never up and down.

g) Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes.

h) Do not trim on steep slopes.

i) Use extreme caution when reversing or pulling the trimmer towards you.

j) Stop the cutting means if the trimmer has to be tilted for transportation when crossing surfaces other than

grass, and when transporting the trimmer to and from the working area.

k) Never operate the trimmer with defective guards, or without safety devices, in place.

l) Do not change the engine governor settings or over-speed the engine.

m) Disengage all cutting means and drive clutches before starting the engine.

n) Start the engine carefully according to instructions and with feet well away from the cutting elements.
