PA300-CN Siren Amplifier
Connections for Horn Ring Transfer (Cable Assembly P/N 1461907)
The default setting for the slide switch transfers the horn-ring activation of the siren amplifier in
Slide Switch 2
and
3
. In
Slide Switch 2
, a press of the horn button activates the Manual tone. In
Slide Switch 3
, each press of the horn button cycles through siren functions. In addition, the default
configuration for
Slide Switch 3
is
Siren Dependent Enabled
, which restricts siren activation to the
slide switch position the you select. For example, if you press a button that is assigned a siren tone,
the tone only activates when you place the slide switch in the position that is programmed to be
Siren
Dependent Enabled
.
To enable horn-ring control of siren tones, obtain a SPST relay of enough contact-current capacity to
activate the vehicle horn:
1.
Cut the wire that connects the switch for the vehicle horn ring to the horn or horn relay (Figure
3.6).
2.
Splice the WHITE/YELLOW wire from the cable assembly (P/N 1461907) to the horn ring side of
the wire that you cut in step 1. Extend wiring with an 18 AWG lead or thicker.
