
Inspection
Refer to Figure 1 and Part Number Chart as need-
1. Check for proper selection of Insert size for tubing being used.
2. Remove any debris from Inserts. Inspect Inserts for broken or damaged
teeth. If teeth are damaged, replace Insert.
3. Check Inserts for movement. If Insert is loose, tighten Insert Retaining
Screws.
4. Check assembly for freedom of movement. Ensure that both halves of
Clamp pivot freely about Hinge Pins.
5. Inspect swing bolt. Ensure slotted Spring Pin is in place.
6. Ensure Retention Set Screws are in place and tightened.
1. Disassemble Coil Tubing Clamp Assembly.
2. Inspect flat machined surfaces of Hinge Plate and Clamp body halves.
These surfaces should be smooth with no indication of wear or damage.
Replace worn parts before returning Clamp to service.
3. Inspect Hinge Pins. Hinge Pins should be straight and machined surfac-
es should be smooth. Replace defective Hinge Pins before returning
Clamp to service.
4. Inspect Pin holes in Clamp bodies and Hinge Plate. Holes should be
round, without indication of elongation. Replace defective parts before
returning Clamp to service.
5. Inspect Hinge Plate using MPI. Replace defective Hinge Plate before
returning Clamp to service.
6. Apply grease to machined flat surfaces and Pins.
