PREPARING THE MACHINE

Always refer to tractor operator's manual for specific detailed information regarding operation of
equipment.
Pre-Operation Checklist
Efficient and safe operation of the machine requires that each Operator reads and understands
operating procedures and all related safety precautions outlined in this section. A pre-operational
checklist is provided for the Operator. It is important for both personal safety and maintaining the
good mechanical condition of the Rotary Hoe that this checklist be followed.
Before operating the Rotary Hoe, check the following items:

Use only a tractor of adequate power and weight to operate the Rotary Hoe. See the

Be sure that the machine is properly attached to the tractor. Be sure that a mechanical
retainer is installed through the drawbar and that a pin and safety chain are installed.

Inspect all hydraulic lines, hoses, fittings, and couplers for tightness. See
for break-in period recommendations.

IMPORTANT
: Extend the axles out of the shipping width setting and set the track or
tire width for your application. The unit is shipped with axles to the narrowest setting
using the shipping holes for shipping purposes only. See

Check tires and verify they are inflated to the specified pressure. See

Check all wheels for straightness (within 1/4” (6.35mm) of Runout). Replace if
necessary.

Straighten or replace any bent hoe teeth.
9.
Level the Rotary Hoe if at the start of the season by adjusting its turnbuckles.
10.
Check the condition and routing of all fluid hoses and lines. Be sure that all lines are
routed in large arcs. Replace any that are damaged. Re-route those that are rubbed,

Check placement components. Remove and replace any that are worn.
