When in frequent daily use, set the iron on a damp towel, or in an iron
holder between applications. Do not set the iron on delicate cabinet surface
or near any fammable materials.
The ceramic plates may be cleaned of product build-up using rubbing
alcohol and a clean cloth. Be sure that the CHI
®
iron is turned off,
unplugged, and cool to the touch before cleaning. Do not use abrasive
cleansers or materials on the ceramic plates, as this will damage the
heating surface.
As with any electrical appliance, keep the CHI
®
iron away from water.
Never submerge the CHI
®
iron in water as it will damage the Iron, void the
warranty, and may cause injury to persons or the risk o
re.
When not used, keep the Iron unplugged. Do not leave it in hot and humid
places. If the cord of the Iron is twisted, untwist the cord before use.
Converters CANNOT be used. If you require a different voltage, please
ask your distributor for the correct CHI
®
Hairstyling Iron.
Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service
representative.
If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Call
Customer Service. (See “LIMITED WARRANTY” Section)

GROUND INSTRUCTIONS, SERVICING OF DOUBLE-INSULATED
APPLIANCES
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are provided instead of
grounding. No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor
should a means for grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing a double-insulated
appliance requires extreme care and knowledge o
the system and should be done
only by a quali
ed service personnel. Replacement parts
or a double-insulated
appliance must be identical to the parts they replace. A double-insulated appliance is
marked with the words “DOUBLE INSULATION or DOUBLE INSULATED.” The
symbol within a square
may also be marked on the appliance.
