INSTRUCTIONS
FOR MEASUREMENT
y
In order to prevent damaging the device
or measurement inaccuracies, avoid:
1)
Strong electromagnetic fields
crea-
ted by arch welding machines, induction
heating elements, etc.
2)
Temperature jumps
that are caused
by sudden changes in ambient tempe-
rature – allow the device to come to
ambient temperature for 30 minutes
prior to using it.
Do not place the
temperature measurement device
in the vicinity of hot objects or
directly on them.
3)
Temperatures outside the permi-
tted ambient temperatures and
permitted object temperature
measuring range.
4)
Ensure that the device is used with
sufficiently charged batteries.
Flat
batteries may lead to measurement
inaccuracies.
5)
Keep the device clean to prevent
dust from accumulating on the
lens, which would result in measu-
rement inaccuracies.
SETTING °C/°F
TEMPERATURE UNITS
1. Point the device at the measured object
and press the trigger. The device will
turn on automatically.
2. Press button
and set the units
to °C or °F, which are shown on the right
side of the display.
HOW TO PERFORM
MEASUREMENTS
1. Point the device at the measured object
and press the trigger. The device will
turn on automatically.
2. Use the laser to help you aim at the
correct spot.
3. As soon as the temperature is shown
in the middle of the display, release
the trigger. The device will beep, the
temperature value will be retained and
the text
HOLD
will appear in the bottom
left corner of the display.
4. If the device is not used for longer than
6 seconds, it will turn off automatically.
* If you keep the trigger pulled conti-
nuously, the temperature value in the
middle of the display may fluctuate due
to uneven temperatures on the surface
of the object.
SETTING EMISSIVITY
1. Press the trigger to turn on the device.
will be shown in the bottom
right corner of the display. The value
0.95 is the default emissivity setting for
the device.
2. Press the
EMIT
button and
will be shown on the display.
3. Press button
to increase the emi-
ssivity value or press button
to lower the emissivity value.
y
Emissivity expresses the ability of a mate-
rial to emit infrared radiation. A majority
of organic materials and laminated or
oxidised surfaces have an emissivity value
of approximately 0.95, which is also the
default setting for this device. Measuring

INSERTING/REPLACING
BATTERIES
1. Flip open the cover on the handle of the
device and insert dry and undamaged
type AAA batteries pointing in the
correct polarity direction into the batte-
ry compartment.
2. Always replace both batteries at once
for new ones. Do not combine batteries
of various discharge levels (age) and
types.
3. After inserting the batteries, close the
battery compartment cover.
The power level of the batteries is indica-
ted by the fullness of the battery symbol in
the top right corner of the display.
