For operation with heat recovery, the bypass damper is closed
so that the air passes through the crossflow heat exchanger. For
bypass operation, the damper is open, and the air bypasses the
heat exchanger.

1.4.2 Parts of the VEX unit
Cabinet
The inside and outside of the cabinet is made of Aluzinc® The cabinet is insulated
with 50 mm mineral wool.
Fans
The unit contains two centrifugal fans with backward curved blades for extract air
and supply air.
Crossflow heat ex-
changer
The crossflow heat exchanger in the unit is mounted with a modulating bypass
damper. The crossflow heat exchanger can be removed for cleaning.
Filters
The unit includes integral compact filters for both extract air and supply air.
Condensation outlet
The condensation outlet is in the door. See next page. The condensation tray is
positioned internally in the door. When the door is opened, there may be condensed
water in the tray.
