Upgrading the Firmware Manually
After a successful connection between FMS and your unit, FMS will provide
the updates if your unit is running a compatible version. Refer to the Nova
Fiber FMS Readme for the complete compatibility information.
In all cases, your unit allows you to check for updates, download these
updates and install them directly.
Note: Your unit must have access to an Internet connection to be able to
download updates and install them manually.
To upgrade the firmware manually:
1.
Ensure that your unit has access to the Internet.
2. Connect one end of a network cable to the management port of your
unit and the other end to an Ethernet port on the computer.
3.
Ensure that the (System) LED is steady green, and then, from
your computer, open a Web browser and type 169.254.10.10 in the
address bar to access the Nova Fiber application.
Note: It may take a few seconds before you can see the Nova Fiber application if
your computer needs to reconfigure its network to a link-local address first.
4. When the application prompts you, enter your connection information.

For a trouble-free upgrade, ensure that your unit remains on during
all the process.
