STEP 16: Installing the Plunger
Slide the spring onto the shaft of
the dowel pin, and then slide the
thin nylon washer into place.
Lay the tailstock down
as shown, and place the
little O-ring right here.
Lower the shaft through
the tailstock brace ,
through the O-ring, and
into the tailstock foot.
The tailstock assembly is now complete.
The O-ring captures this “plunger” and
prevents it from falling out accidentally.
