5.8 Switchers Linxs LXRPS42A and Linxs LXRPS82A
5.8.1 Description
Switchers Linxs LXRPS42A and Linxs LXRPS82A are products for professional use in applications for security
and surveillance and dedicated to the management of video signals. The Linxs LXRPS42A and Linxs
LXRPS82A models differ only in the number of possible video input connections, 8 and 4 respectively; there are
two video outputs, one of which can be managed directly by a VCR. They are used to control the usual
switching, alarm management and on screen menu programming operations. Refer to the switcher manual for
further information on this subject.
5.8.2 Connection
5.8.2.1 Cable
The communication cable is standard, as described in § Standard connection cable , page 8 .
5.8.2.2 Switcher sett ings
The baud rate of the switcher can be selected using the bump contact JP1 inside the switcher:
•
bump contact open: 9600 baud (default status)
•
bump contact shorted: 1200 baud
Operations to modify the baud rate should be carried out after disconnecting the power supply to the switcher.

5.8.2.3 Keyboard set tings
While the keyboard is being set up, the

submenu should be set as

Even in the presence of more than one keyboard connected to the switcher, the identification number of each
keyboard is of no importance.
5.8.2.4 Operational t est
If the keyboard is connected directly with the switcher set up in this way using the telephone cable supplied, it
should be possible to switch the input videos immediately:
