EPO 

The Remote Emergency Power Off (Remote EPO) mechanism cuts the power supply 

from the UPS output to loads in extreme situations or in emergency (e.g. fire).  

The mechanism  can be  activated  by  the means of opening  contacts  of  the  external 

EPO connector (a trigger).

If EPO is triggered when the UPS unit operates in  Line mode, the unit will switch to 

STANDBY  mode.  However,  if  EPO  is  triggered  when  the  UPS  unit  is  in  BATTERY 

mode,  the  unit  will  switch  off  completely.  The  output  is  switch  again  only  after  the 

user's intervention (the EPO circuit is reset and the UPS unit is restarted). 

If the UPS unit is in STANDBY mode, EPO signaling is switched off by pressing the 

OFF  button.  The  UPS  unit  switches  to  BYPASS  mode,  which  is  a  precondition  to 

restart the unit. 

When the UPS unit is OFF,  once the EPO  circuit is reset, the unit can be restarted 

following the standard procedure. 

The  EPO  connection contacts  show  safe  voltage  levels  isolated from  the  remaining 

UPS unit systems. 

 

CAUTION!

 The EPO circuit must be a separate circuit and it is forbidden 

to connect it with other installations.
