GENERAL SAFETY
BEFORE STARTING
Before starting or servicing any generator, read and
understand all instructions. Failure to follow safety
precautions or instructions can cause equipment damage
or serious personal injury or death. Engine instructions for
these units are contained in a separate manual. Retain
all manuals for future reference.
Never use this generator for any aplication other than
that specified by the manufacturer. Never operate
this generator under conditions not approved by the
manufacturer. Never attempt to modify this generator to
perform any manner not intended by the manufacturer.
For maintenance and repairs, use only products and
parts recommended by the manufacturer.
Be sure that the generator is properly grounded to an
external ground path prior to operation. Refer to the
section entitled: Grounding instruction for proper
grounding procedures.
Be sure that the generator is operated only by persons
who have read and understand these instructions.
Be sure that the generator is placed on a flat level
surface to prior and during the operation. The generator
must not slide or shift during operation.
Do not operate the generator on wet surfaces or
in the rain.
Keep all persons away from the generator during
operation.
Do not allow persons wearing loose clothing or jewelry to
start or operate the generator. Loose clothing or jewelry
may become entangled in moving components, causing
equipment damage and or personal injury.
Keep all persons away from parts that move or become
hot during operation.
Be sure all powered devices are shut off prior to conecting
them to the generator.
Keep the generator clean and well maintained at all
times.
Be sure that all tools and appliances are in good repair
and are properly grounded. Use devices that have three
prong power cords. If an extention cord is used, be sure
that it has three prongs for proper grounding.
Never use the generator if is damaged or has loose
fittings, bolts etc.
Use only unleaded fuel. Do not refill the fuel tank while
the engine is running. Use precautions to prevent fuel
spillage during refills. Be sure the fuel tank cap is securely
in place before starting the engine. Allow engine to cool
for at least two minutes before refueling.
Store fuel in a safe container in a well ventilated area,
away from open flames.
Never operate the generator in an explosive
or flammable atmosphere or poorly
ventilated area.
Shut off the engine and disconnect the spark plug
wire before performing any service maintenance
to the unit.
Check the fuel level before starting your generator. For
best result use only regular grade unleaded gasoline
(minimum 90 octanes).
Always use unleaded fuel, it produces less
remainders in the spark plug, prolonging the life
of the exhaust system. Using gasoline of low
octane can cause persistent noise, and damage to
the engine, if some of these occurs while running
in constant speed under a normal charging load,
change quality of fuel, occasionally your generator
can make some noise while it operates under high
charge of load. This is not important, simply means
that the generator is working efficiently.
Verify the level of the oil of the engine before starting your
generator, the level of the oil must be between the mark
of low and high level of the dipstick.
This product is send by manufacturer without oil.
The oil is very important in the engine
performance. Oils with detergents and vegetal
oils are not recommended. Do not add commercial
additives to the recommended oil and don’t mix oil
with gasoline. SAE 10W-30 is recommended for
general use, other viscosities shown in the illustration
can be used when the average temperature in their
area is within the indicated rank.
After the unit is running you can connect the
appliances.
It is strongly recommended to use a GFI (Ground Fault
Interrupter). It can significantly reduce the possibility
of injury if an electrical short occurs.
A ground fault interrupter may ot be effective if
used on a generator that is not grounded.
When installing a GFI, be sure to follow all national
and local regulations, or call a qualified electrical
technician.
