Function test
f
Close the safety guard.
f
Start the machine.
f
Machine must stop immediately when the safety
guard is opened!
f
Switch off the machine.
f
Open the safety guard.
f
The machine must not start when the safety guard
is open!
Service and inspection
No servicing is required on the battery-less actuator.
but regular inspection of the following is necessary
to ensure trouble-free long-term operation
f
Secure fastening of the actuator and the read head
(use of safety screws included)
f
Sealing of the plug connector on the evaluation unit
f
Loose cable connections on the evaluation unit
f
Switch-off distance check
f
A function test should be performed at least once
a year.
f
Shorter intervals may be necessary depending on
the specific application.
Exclusion of liability under the following
conditions:
f
if the unit is not used for its intended purpose
f
non-compliance with safety regulations
f
mounting and electrical connection not performed
by authorized personnel
f
non-implementation of functional checks.
f
if modifications are made.

Table 2: Troubleshooting
With the read heads CES, CEM and CET, two processors each read the transponder in the actuator. Fasten-
ing the actuator in the operating distance with small hysteresis can lead to even slight vibrations causing
the transponder to be read by only one processor (half-reading). This causes the ”yellow flashing“ state to
be indicated.
It is recommended to fasten the actuator in the operating distance so that the hysteresis is adequately large
(Figure 3). If this cannot be realized, the ”dual-channel dependent with filtering“ module can be used in the
ASIMON software. More detailed information about this can be found in the ASIMON software manual, which
can be opened via the Help function of the ASIMON software.
