Telnet gateway

This gateway allows a PC running a Telnet client software to connect to an equipment connected to the serial
link of the Router.
The data rate and the format of the characters on the serial link can be controlled according to the RFC2217
standard.

To configure the gateway :

•

In the menu, choose

Setup > IP-RS gateways > Telnet

•

Tick the

Enable

checkbox.

•

Configure the following parameters.

COM port

Select the serial link 1 or 2 of the product.

Bitrate, Parity, Data, stop bits

Allow to set the bitrate and the format of the asynchronous serial link.

TCP idle Timeout

Set the time the gateway will wait before disconnecting the TCP link if no characters are detected.

TCP port

Set the port number the gateway has to use.
