When the module system is used, it should be connected to the ground reliably. The
ground wire should be a naked copper wire with surface coating only and with no
insulation jacket. The area of cross-section of wire should be sized in accordance with the
prime current carrying conductor. The area of cross-section of wire should meet the NEC,
article 250. Installation in Canada shall be in accordance with CSA C22.1, Safety
Standard for Electrical Installations, Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1 ( refer Figure 4) .
The lay-in grounding lug, manufactured by ILSCO, type GBL-4DBT installed to frame using
stainless steel screw, secured to hole opening by star washer, flat washer, split washer and
nut, All hardware used is stainless steel. The starwasher is used to break the coating of

the frame to obtain reliable grounding termination. Recommended stainless steel screw
assembly torque is 13.5 lb.inch(1.5 N.m), Next, insert the grounding wire (10-12AWG
exposed copper wire is recommended) to the feet of the lug, and screw down the slotted
screw(recommended torque is 13.5 lb.inch(1.5 N.m)). Be careful not to damage the wire
copper.

Roof constructions and installations may affect the fire safety of a building; improper
