Operating the EPA
Manual operation of the EPA involves pressing the button on the pendant. The EPA automatically
sends notifications to the CP for certain events.
5.1.
Notifications
The EPA sends notifications to the CP for the following events:
The resident presses the EPA button
The EPA detects that the resident has fallen
In addition, depending on how the CP is configured, the EPA periodically sends information to the CP,
including:
The temperature
The EPA battery charge percentage
5.2.
LED Indications
The EPA LED lights up as shown in the following table:

for 8 seconds – 250 ms on, 500 ms
off.
The resident presses the EPA button.
The EPA detects that the resident has fallen.
EPA fall detection test – refer to 4 Testing Fall
Detection on page 10.
Lights
green
-for 1 second.
EPA reset – after replacing the battery, or after a long
press of the EPA button.
