WORD SYNC setting
WORD>
***
Sets the WORD SYNC mode.
The factory default setting is "auto".
NOTE: Using word sync improves the sonic character substantially.
When at all possible, use the word sync feature.
auto
When input of a synchronization signal (word clock) from outside is
detected, WORD SYNC starts. When set to "auto" the unit will look
for an input synchronization signal (word clock), but it will use its
internal clock instead if none is detected.
ON
When connected to a D-02, G-0Rb or other equipment that
outputs a synchronization signal (word clock), set to "ON" to use
WORD SYNC. Use this when you want to unify system
synchronization (clock) for playback or operate this unit using a
higher-precision external clock.
OFF
This turns WORD SYNC off. Set to OFF when you do not want to use
an external synchronization signal (word clock).
<
This unit supports the following clock inputs and will automatically
change according to the input signal.
44.1 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 176.4 kHz, 10 MHz, 22.5792 MHz
<
When set to "auto" or "ON", the WORD indicator blinks when
searching for an external clock. When a clock is detected and
locked, it stops blinking and stays lit blue, showing that playback
with external synchronization is possible.
<
When set to "ON", an error message is shown when an external
clock cannot be detected.
<
Switching word sync on and off may occasionally result in noise
from the D/A converter. If this is the case, stop the unit and lower
the amplifier volume before switching the function on or off.
<
If the connected D/A converter's WORD SYNC is on, set this unit's
WORD SYNC to "auto" or "ON". Use with the word sync function
turned off on the P-02 could cause noise output.
WORD SYNC input connector setting
CLKIN>
***
Its default settings change the connector used for WORD SYNC signal
input.
The factory default setting is "WORD".
WORD
The signal input through the WORD SYNC input connector (WORD
SYNC IN) is used for synchronization.
10M
The signal input through the 10MHz input connector (WORD SYNC
10MHz IN) is used for synchronization.
XLR (XLR output setting)
XLR>
***
This mode sets the connection method for the XLR terminals.
The factory default setting is "OFF".
Single
Outputs stereo digital signals from the XLR terminals. Select this
when connecting to a D/A converter using one XLR digital cable.
Dual
Outputs the left channel digital signal from the XLR 1 (L) terminal,
and the right channel digital signal from the XLR 2 (R) terminal.
Select this when connecting the P-02 to an Esoteric D/A converter
(D-01, D-02, D-03 or D-05) or to a Dual AES-compatible device
using two XLR digital cables.
OFF
There is no output from the XLR terminals. Select this setting when
not using the XLR terminals.
NOTE: When the "upconversion setting" is set to "8Fs" for 8X
upconversion to 352.8 kHz, set this to "Dual".
