5.3 Installing the Fan Unit
5.3.1 Cooling Arrangement
Caution!
Insufficient cooling may shorten the useful life of the equipment. Be sure always
to use the required fan unit.
The figures below show the cooling arrangement for the AMM 1U-1 and
AMM 2U-4.

One fan unit can provide cooling for up to two fully equipped AMM 1U-1 or one
fully equipped AMM 2U-4. The fan unit should always be positioned directly
above the AMM. Be sure always to leave 1U of free space above the fan unit and
below the AMM. Dummy fronts can be used to cover the empty 1U positions.
The rack should have free space around it.
5.3.2 Fitting the Fan Unit in the Rack
Before fitting the fan unit in the rack, it has to be prepared for front installation
by moving the fixing brackets.
