Transmitting A Call
1.
Select the proper system and channel as described in
the Basic Operation on page 14.
2.
Observe the TX/RX indicator for any activity on the
channel. Never transmit with the green RX indicator
ON.
3.
Press and hold the
EMER
button for at least l
second to Monitor the channel for activity. Noise
will be heard if there is no activity on the channel.
This will also help in setting the volume level to the
desired level.
4.
Remove the microphone from the hookswitch.
Holding the microphone approximately 2 inches
from your mouth, press the PTT button on the side
of the microphone and speak in the microphone.
5.
When you have finished speaking, release the PTT
button and wait for a reply.
