Using a BBS with HyperTerminal 

Making a new connection 

1. 

Start 

HyperTerminal

 (go to the 

Windows 95

®

 Start menu, Programs 

and Accessories). Click on the 

Hypertrm

 icon. 

2. 

When the 

New connection

 window 

shown here opens, type a name and 
choose an icon for the connection. 
Click 

OK

3.  

In the 

Phone Number

 window, check 

country, telephone number and where 
you are calling from. 
Change properties if required: 

A.  Change properties 

calling to

, then 

click on the 

Modify

 button. It is very 

important that the Ericsson GC 75 
is used for connection. Click 

OK

 

when ready. 

B. Change properties 

calling from

, then click on the 

Dialing properties

 button. Click 

OK

 

when ready.  

4.  

Click on the 

Dial

 button. 

5.  

Enter your PIN code if any. 

6.  

In the 

Connect

 window, you will receive a message if your connection was successful. If you 

want to interrupt the connection, go to the 

Call

 menu in HyperTerminal and choose 

Disconnect

. If the telephone number you are trying to call is not correct, your call will be 

automatically disconnected.
