7.6 Select appropriate unit settings
You can find setting recommendations for various application ar-
eas in the Erbe brochure for gastroenterology.
Rinsing with to high of a pressure can lead to tissue damage.
Therefore always select for rinsing the lowest possible effect on
the ERBEJET 2.
When operating this product, you must observe the setting limits
specified in these instructions. Adapt the power to the planned
procedure. Begin with the lowest possible power setting and in-
crease gradually as required.
7.7 Endoscope selection
The HF leakage current at the ocular of the endoscope may
cause thermal injury to the user. In order to prevent this, please
use only endoscopes designed for use with electrosurgical devic-
es.
The working channel of the endoscope must have a diameter of
at least 2.8 mm.
7.8 Insert the working hose into the endoscope
Check the position of the electrode needle before inserting the
working hose of the HybridKnife into the endoscope or before
removing it from the endoscope. The electrode needle must be
fully retracted. Let the slide switch on the handle snap into the
rear (proximal) end position.
Risk of burns! The working hose should protrude at least 10 mm
out of the distal end of the endoscope. This is ensured when the
second black ring on the distal end of the working hose is visible
through the endoscope.
