Cleaning the Heat Shield
When it becomes hard to see inside the ink tank because
ink has adhered to the heat shield, remove the heat
shield and clean it.
A Philips head screwdriver is required for the following
work. Make sure to have one prepared before you start
working.
Before starting this procedure, be sure to read the
following:

Remove the heat shield.
Completely loosen the four screws that hold the
heat shield in place to remove the heat shield.

Soak a soft cloth in water, wring it out
thoroughly, and then wipe off any ink that has
adhered to the heat shield.

Install the heat shield.
Align the heat shield's holes with those in the ink
tank holder and tightly screw in the screws.
Applying Grease to the
Carriage Rod
When
Apply secondary carriage rod grease. See
manual.
is displayed on the control panel screen, follow
the steps below to apply grease to the carriage rod as
soon as possible.
