Identify the type
of error indicated.

Waste ink drain
tank overflow
Carriage error
No ink cartridge
Replace the waste
ink absorbing
material, and reset
the protect counter.
(See Chapter 6.)
Turn the printer
off and try to
move the carriage
manually.
Does the
carriage move
smoothly ?
Replace the ink
cartridge with a
new one.
Does error
occur again ?
Check CR m otor
and drivers. If they
are OK, replace the
C164 M AIN board.
Refer to the section
describing repair of
the printer mechanism.
