Active Path
The paper source is determined by the printer’s paper-release
lever position. If it is set to the single sheet position and paper
is loaded in the manual feed slot, the StatusMonitor
automatically selects and displays information according to the
media loaded in the manual feed slot. If no paper is loaded in
the manual feed slot, the StatusMonitor automatically selects
and displays information according to the media loaded in the
automatic sheet feeder. If the paper-release lever is set to the
continuous paper position, no media information is displayed.
Paper remaining level
The amount of paper remaining is shown as the relative
percent of paper loaded in the selected paper source.

The number of sheets you can load varies by media type. See
page 5-22 for details on loading special media.
Size
The paper size is determined by the selected Active Path setting.
Type
The media type is determined by the Media Type setting on the
printer’s control panel.
Note:
If “Off” appears in the Type box, either the Media Check box is not
selected or the Media Type setting on the control panel has been set to
Other/Media Selection Off.
