Error Messages
If a problem occurs with the SpectroProofer, you may see a message on the
printer’s LCD screen. Check the following list for an explanation and
instructions for solving the problem:
Note:
If the SpectroProofer isn’t
operating correctly, check
the
Backing Color
setting
in the printer’s menus. If
Gray is displayed, unplug
the SpectroProofer, clean it
(see page 19), and re-seat
the cables.

SP Connection Error
See manual and reconnect

Mounter to printer.
The SpectroProofer is not
connected correctly.
Turn off the printer and make sure the
SpectroProofer is connected correctly. Wait
a moment, then turn on the printer again.
SProofer Disconnected
SpectroProofer Mounter is
not recognized.
Continue?
The spectrophotometer is not
connected correctly.
Reconnect the cables and select
No
to turn
off the printer. Wait a moment, then turn on
the printer again. If you do not want to use
the SpectroProofer, select
Yes
.
ILS30EP Error
See manual and reconnect
ILS30EP to SpectroProofer
Mounter.
Turn printer off and on
again.
The SpectroProofer is not
installed correctly
Turn off the printer and make sure the
SpectroProofer is connected correctly. Wait
a moment, then turn on the printer again.
ILS30EP Disconnected
ILS30EP is not recognized.
Continue?
The SpectroProofer is not
connected to the printer
correctly.
Reconnect the cables and select
No
to turn
off the printer. Wait a moment, then turn on
the printer again. If you do not want to use
the SpectroProofer, select

SpectroProofer Error

The SpectroProofer is not
connected correctly.
Turn the printer off and check to make sure
the SpectroProofer is connected correctly.
Turn the printer back on. If the error appears
again, contact Epson as described on
page 25.
