Description
Connected to the printer chassis. The printer’s chassis
GND and signal GND are connected to each other.
Serial ASCII data output by printer. Maintains MARK
state (LOW level) between transmitted character codes.
Logic 0 is HIGH (SPACE) and logic 1 is LOW (MARK).
Serial ASCII data input to the printer. Maintains MARK
state (LOW level) between received character codes.
Transmission request signal output from the printer.
Always at HIGH level during power ON.
Always ignored
Signal input to printer. The printer can transmit data by
TXD while DSR is HIGH. X-ON/X-OFF, however, can be
transmitted regardless of the DSR state. Can always be
set to be ignored with SelecType (factory setting).
Ground
Always ignored.

Signal output by printer. When DTR is HIGH, the printer
can receive the RXD signal. If SelecType settings do not
specify DTR control, the signal is HIGH while printer
power is on. When SelecType settings are used for DTR
control, DTR goes LOW for any errors. RXD data from
the host computer must be stopped within 128
characters after DTR goes LOW.

Notes: 1. Parentheses ( ) indicate a SelecType RS-422 signal
2. CTS, DSR, and DTR states can be selected through SelecType.
3. Although signals RTS, CTS, DSR, DTR, DCD are RS-232C signals, they can be
used for RS-422 mode, if selected through SelecType.
4. SD+, SD:
Serial ASCII data output from the printer.
HIGH level: when SD+ voltage is higher than SD voltage.
LOW level: when SD+ voltage is less than SD voltage.
Logic 0 is SPACE and logic 1 is MARK; MARK state must be maintained between
transmitted character codes.
