The Q1C is supplied with two sets of standoffs that serve as a framing guide and
must be used when the
unit is being installed as a fireplace. The front set of standoffs mount to sides of the unit (see Figure 21)

and can be adjusted as needed to
account for the thickness of the
wall material. The rear standoffs
attach to the back corners of
the unit and are not adjustable.
Combustible material can
touch the standoffs but must
not encroach past them
. If
the Q1C is being installed into a
pre-existing masonary fireplace
it is not necessary to use the
standoffs. Installation of the
standoffs will require a T20
screwdriver. Remove the installed
screws in the noted locations,
place the standoff over the holes,
and re-install the screws.
