The location for the fireplace can be raised, at floor level, or installed in a corner. There are minimum
framing measurements for each situation. The basic rough opening should have the following dimensions
(see Figure 28). The fireplace must be placed on a strong and level surface.
The gas line must be run to the right side of the fireplace, there is a 3/8 NPTM fitting to connect the gas line
to. The electrical wiring must be brought to the left side. The location of the fireplace should be chosen so
there will be at least a 36 inches (914 mm) clearance from drapes, doors and other combustible materials.

NOTE: When framing the unit, care
must be taken to consider the final
floor thickness, the bottom of the
fireplace must sit flush with the fin-
ished floor to ensure proper fit of the
surround components.
