2 Installation of the Option Board
2.1 Instructions before opening the unit
To prevent electrostatic damage to the electronic boards, always use a Ground Strap while
handling the circuit boards. If one is not available, make sure you are electrically
discharged before touching the boards by first touching a metal surface such as a ground
lug on the meter or a table.
Ensure power is off to unit before removing or installing boards.
CAUTION
ELECTRICAL HAZARD
Remove power from the Ultrasonic meter electronics.
Failure to remove power from the electronics can result in damage to the equipment.
2.2 Instructions to install the Option Board
Procedure
1. Before disconnecting unit power to install the option board, connect to the meter
with Daniel CUI and make sure the meter has the latest version of firmware installed
for meter. If you install an option board in a meter with firmware that does not
support the board, the meter will not be able to recognize the board until the
firmware is upgraded. You can find the version of firmware in the meter by looking
up CPUBdSwVer in the Meter Information dialog found under the Meter pull down
menu in Daniel CUI.
