Note: The Model 3711 ceases operation as soon as the power jumper is removed. The OFF slots are
provided for convenience in storing the jumper during unit storage, transportation, etc.
3. Replace the cover on the front of the unit. Tighten securely but do not over-tighten.
If the reset jumper is in the NORM slots (left and center) when power is supplied, a “warm start” will
be performed. In a warm start:
• If the user configuration in SRAM is valid, configuration data is loaded from SRAM.
• If user configuration in SRAM is not valid, user configuration data is loaded from flash
memory. If user configuration data in flash memory is not valid, the default factory
configuration is loaded.
Note: See Section 14.3 for a discussion of SRAM, flash memory, and user configuration data.
If the reset jumper is in the RESET slots (center and right), a “communications reset start” will be
performed. During startup, the communication ports will be reset to factory defaults. Other user
configuration parameters may be lost.
Note: Micro Motion recommends saving the current configuration to flash memory and to a file before
performing a communications reset.
14.2.2 Using ROCLINK 800
The ROCLINK 800 Flags window shown in Figure 14-1 is used to initialize the Model 3711 and to
manage memory. To open the Flags window, click
Device > Flags
.
