Step 1: Install Standard Gateways
Note: Gateways should be placed as high off
the ground as possible to maximize signal
strength.
Note: Gateways should be no more than 90 feet
(27 meters) away from the equipment to be
monitored fridges, display cases, etc).
1. Plug in gateways. Once the gateways are
plugged in, they will briefly flash orange to
indicate they are online and operational.
System requirements
You will need the following to proceed with
setting up your RTS system:
• Mobile Device with Bluetooth® 4.2
supported
• Digital Food Safety Mobile Application
• Wi-Fi Connection on a network that
supports 2.4 GHz
• AC Power Outlet
5. Secure USB cord wiring, using the
mounting brackets and zip ties as
needed.
Step 2: Install Plenum Gateways
Plenum gateways should be installed outside of
the door of walk-in cold storage units.
1. Locate the gateway next to the door frame
at a height 4’ – 6’ (1.2 m – 1.8 m) from the
floor, or directly above door.
Clean the surface where the gateway
will be mounted; wipe the surface dry
before mounting.
2. Peel off backing of adhesive tape on the
back of the gateway.
3. Place the gateway in the selected location.
Press firmly for 10 seconds to ensure good
adhesion

4. Connect the USB extension cord to the
plenum gateway and the power supply.
A red light on the gateway will illuminate
confirming the gateway has power.
Note: Cord should be facing away from the
walk-in door opening. See sticker on the
device indicating the correct positioning.
