Place tape measure at the end of the top tube
(riser collar) and measure down to distance E.
Carefully cut the drop tube to the required
length. Use a hacksaw equipped with a fine
tooth blade to ensure a straight 90-degree cut.
An angled cut is permissable, but the 4”-6” dis-
tance from the bottom of the tank must corre-
spond to the top of the cut as shown.

20. Remove all metal chips or debris left from cutting or drilling. Shake the
A1100EVR overfill prevention valve in a vertical position. Verify that the
A1100EVR drop tube o-ring is installed properly. Locate the A1100EVR
overfill prevention valve over the tank fill riser opening with the A1100EVR
collar pointing upward. Carefully lower the A1100EVR overfill prevention
valve into the tank until the A1100EVR collar is resting on the riser pipe.
21. Install warning plate on the riser using the hose clamp provided.

1.
Find measurement A, the distance from the inside top of the tank to the top
edge of the riser pipe as shown in Figure 1.
If the tank has a manway (Figure 3), make sure to include the height of the
manway
when finding measurement A as shown in Figure 2, A = J + H .
Consult your tank diagram to determine the proper H dimension. If this
dimension cannot be found, use 6” as the H dimension (typical manway
height is 5”-7”).
When installing the A1100EVR overfill prevention valve below the spill
containment drain valve, measurement A is the distance between the inside
top of the tank to the top edge of the A1100EVR overfill prevention valve
seat as shown in Figure 2.

Find measurement D, the distance between the
top of the riser pipe and the bottom of the tank
as shown in Figure 3.
PEI Recommended Practice suggests 4”-6”.

IMPORTANT: Do not use a power saw, pipe or tubing cutter as this may
result in damage to the bottom of the lower drop tube, voiding warranty.
