5. Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible cause and solution
Appliance does
not start
Check whether the appliance is connected to power or whether the plug is firmly inserted in the
power socket.
Check whether the voltage is too low.
Check whether there is a power failure or partial circuits have tripped.
Odour
Food with a strong odour should be tightly wrapped. Check whether there is any rotten food. Clean
the inside of the refrigerator.
Compressor runs
for a long time
It is normal for the compressor to run for a long time in summer when the ambient temperature is
high.
It is not recommended to place too much food in the appliance at the same time. Allow food to cool
before placing it in the appliance.
The doors are opened too frequently.
Light does not
turn on
Check whether the refrigerator is connected to the electrical supply and whether the light is
damaged.
Have the light replaced by a specialist.
Doors do not
close properly
The door is obstructed by food items.
The refrigerator is tilted.
Loud noise
Check whether the floor is level and whether the refrigerator is firmly supported.
Check whether accessories are placed in the proper locations.
Door seal is not
airtight
Remove foreign matter from the door seal.
Heat the door seal and then cool it to restore its shape (use a hair drier or hot towel for heating).
Water tray
overflows
There is too much food in the compartment or the food contains too much water, resulting in
excessive defrosting.
The doors are not closing properly, resulting in frosting due to the entry of air and more water due to
defrosting.
Exterior of
appliance is hot
Heat from the built-in condenser is dissipated via the exterior, which is normal. If the exterior get
too hot due to a high ambient temperature or storage of too much food, ensure good ventilation to
facilitate heat dissipation.
Surface
condensation
Condensation on the exterior surface and door seals of the appliance is normal when the ambient
humidity is too high. Dry off the condensate with a clean towel.
Abnormal noise
Buzzing: The compressor may buzz occasionally during operation, particularly when starting or
stopping. This is normal.
Creaking: Refrigerant flowing inside the appliance may produce a creaking sound, which is normal.
