2.5 USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Before starting for the first time, let the
refrigerator stand still for two hours before
connecting it to the power supply.
• Before adding any fresh or frozen food,
leave the refrigerator to run for 2 to 3 hours,
or more than 4 hours in summer when the
ambient temperature is high.
• Make sure there is enough clear space
around the refrigerator so that you can open
the doors and drawers easily.
2.6 ENERGY-SAVING TIPS
• The appliance should be located in the coolest area of the room,
away from heat-producing appliances or heating ducts, and out of
direct sunlight.
• Let hot food cool to room temperature before placing it in the
appliance. Overloading the refrigerator forces the compressor to run
for longer. Food that is cooled too slowly may lose quality, or spoil.
• Be sure to wrap food properly, and wipe containers dry before
placing them in the appliance. This cuts down on frost build-up inside
the appliance.
• Appliance storage containers should not be lined with aluminium foil,
wax paper, or paper towelling. Liners interfere with cold air
circulation, making the appliance less efficient.
• Organize and label food to reduce the time that the door is left open.
Remove all the items you need at one time, and close the door as
soon as possible.
