PLACEMENT
EO 120 are wireless smoke alarms that communicate using radio signals. It is impor-
tant to consider their location carefully in respect to range. Metal doors and walls,
fridges, mirrors, reinforced concrete walls, clusters of metal pipes or similar hin-
drances weaken the radio signals, and smoke alarms should not be installed close to
these obstacles, nor should such obstacles be in the line of sight between the units.
Smoke alarms must be mounted on
the ceiling, at least 50 cm from the
wall. Elotec smoke alarms should be
installed in bedrooms, high up in stair-
wells or similar locations. Children’s
bedrooms and rooms with lots of elec-
tronic equipment should have alarms
installed. Install at least one alarm
on each fl oor. It is important that the
alarm can be heard in all bedrooms.
Avoid
mounting in garages or near strip
lighting. Yemperature and humidity
should be normal. Smoke alarms must
not be painted or varnished.
After installation, smoke alarms should be tested.
TESTING SMOKE ALARMS
To test your smoke alarms, press the test button briefl y (max. 2 seconds). This will
initiate a test of all internal functions and start the alarm sounder. Other smoke alarms
with the same ID will activate their sounders after a few seconds. After approxi-
mately 15 seconds, all sounders will stop.
The alarm that was operated will enter low sensitivity mode (hush) for 10 minutes.
Additionally, it is recommended to test
the smoke alarms using test smoke 2-4
times a year. Use Elotec Smoke Cannon,
“AERO2”.
