Driving Sounder from Power Supply Connection (ONLY) – Ring when
powered option
1)
Make permanent connection from H- terminal to R- terminal.
Ensure JP2 pins 1+2 linked.
2)
Unit will sound continuously when powered via H+ / H- connections.
Installation and Set-up
1)
Remove sounder cover.
2)
Remove knock-outs from sounder baseplate as required.
3)
Adjust tamper switch blade as required.
4)
Select required PP3 battery type using JP1 jumper link (dry cell or rechargeable).
5)
Select required RING (control) signal polarity using JP2 jumper link.
6)
Pass wires from control panel through knock-out hole(s).
7)
Fix backplate to wall with screws through mounting slots.
8)
Set ‘TRIM’ control pot. to mid position.
9)
Connect RING terminal of sounder to ring (bell) output of control panel (unless sounder driven
from single power supply connection – see above).
10)
If Tamper circuit used, connect TAMP1/2 terminals to appropriate inputs on control panel.
11)
Connect n12Vdc and 0V supply from control panel to H+ and H- terminals
respectively.
12)
Replace sounder cover.
Testing
Sounder driven from Power Supply Connection – Ring when powered option
1)
Connect sounder to n12Vdc and 0V supply (from control panel) if single connection
used.
2)
Check output from sounder. Remove cover and adjust ‘TRIM’ control pot. as required. Replace
cover.
Conventional Panel Connections
1)
Activate ring (bell) output from control panel and check output from sounder. Remove cover
and adjust ‘TRIM’ control pot. as required.
2)
Check that the panel detects a tamper failure, if tamper connections used.
3)
Replace cover. Check that the tamper active output condition has cleared at the control panel.
4)
Fasten cover screw.
CAUTION
This unit is NOT SUITABLE for
external installation.
Risk of explosion if dry cell
battery used with JP1 link
fitted.
Dispose of used batteries
according to the battery
manufacturer’s
instructions and all local and
national regulations.
