Step 3: Attach panels with 2” screws.
See FIGURE 1 for screw locations.
Step 4: Attach border
The longer pieces of border are to be placed at the corners to overlap the other border
pieces as shown in the picture below. Attach border with 2” screws to affix to 2x4 studs
that you mounted in step 2. Use a screw every 24”.
Step 5: Attach handholds
Use the included wrench to attach your handholds to the wall. We recommend attaching
about six handholds per panel. Consider spacing out colors across your traverse wall.
TIP
: You may create routes by assigning one color for hands (e.g., red) and one color for
feet (e.g., blue). You can do this with other colors too. You can create a challenge by
trying to climb across the wall only using certain colored holds while avoiding (ignoring)
other colors of holds. Be creative in route setting. Rotating a hold during installation
may change the difficulty of grabbing that hold. Most holds have an easier orientation
and a harder orientation for mounting.
Step 6: Install padded flooring
We recommend 4” padding for a traverse wall that is up to 8 ft tall. If you left a space for
the padding under the climbing wall, push the padding slightly under the climbing wall
for a secure and clean looking fit.
Enjoy your climbing wall!
