GRILL BURNER
The grill is controlled by a gas tap assuring
the opening and the closing of the gas
supply.
Turning the knob, so that the indicator line
points to the symbols printed on the panel,
achieves the following functions:
- symbol
closed valve
- symbol
maximum
aperture or flow
- symbol
minimum
aperture or flow
√
The maximum aperture position
permits rapid boiling of liquids, whereas
the minimum aperture position allows
slower warming of food or maintaining
boiling conditions of liquids.
√
To reduce the gas flow to minimum
rotate the knob further anti-clockwise
to point the indicator towards the small
flame symbol.
√
Other intermediate operating
adjustments can be achieved by
positioning the indicator between the
maximum and minimum aperture
positions, and never between the
maximum aperture and closed
positions.

IGNITION OF THE GRILL BURNER
ATTENTION: Never turn the control
knob before opening the oven door.
To ignite the grill burner:
1.
Open the oven door to the full
extent.
WARNING: Risk of explosion! The
oven door must be open during this
operation.
2. Press in the corresponding knob and
turn counter-clockwise to the full flame
position marked by the
symbol
(fig. 2.4)
and hold the knob in until the
flame has been lit.
Never continue this operation for
more than 15 seconds. If the burner
has still not ignited, wait for about
1 minute prior to repeating the
ignition.
In case of problems with the electric
ignition, to light the grill burner
manually, put a lit match or taper
to the pipe of the burner (fig. 2.5a).
Never turn the thermostat before
approaching a flame to the burner.
3. After lighting the burner, wait a few
seconds before releasing the knob
(until the safety valve stays open).
4. Check that the burner has lit.
Do always grill with oven door
closed.
See specific instructions in the
sections “USE OF THE GRILL” and
“HOW TO OPERATE THE OVEN AND
GRILL TOGETHER”.
If the flame extinguishes for any reason,
the safety valve will automatically shut off
the gas supply to the burner.
To re-light the burner, first turn the grill
control knob to OFF position (“
0
”, “ ” or
“
O
”),
wait for at least 1 minute
and then
repeat the lighting procedure.
NOTES: The knob and symbols may vary.
The symbols may be printed on the knob
itself.
