1. INTENT

USE
The adsorption air drier
MONZUN
type
M1a
with a controlled regeneration is intended for drying and
filtration of a pressure air of the oilfree compressors used for supplying the dental sets and devices in
dental laboratories. The equipment referred to can also be used in other areas of medical practice, in
laboratories, industry and places wherein a clean and dry air is necessary.
2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTION

MONZUN – M1a
works automatically in two phases :
2.1. Drying
Compressed air from the compressor (10) passes the cooler with ventilator (1) via adsorption chamber (7)
(see diagram in chapter 8). By passing the chamber, the air is dried and filtered in the output filter (5 m)
situated in the upper part under a stopper (2) and is advancing further via the humidity sensor chamber (3)
through the return valve (4) into the air chamber (6).
2.2. Regeneration
After each switching the compressor off by means of a pressure-operated switch, the solenoid valve (8)
opens and will stay in the open status during the idle time of the compressor. Then a decompression of the
adsorption chamber takes place, the adsorption substance is regenerated and accumulated water from its
bottom part is expelled via a solenoid valve into the condensate vessel (9). When the humidity sensor
evaluates the air passing the drier as „insufficiently dry“, it opens the solenoid valve of regeneration (5),
through which it lets the regenerating air pass from the air chamber via the adsorption chamber within the
time, unless the adsorption substance is regenerated to the necessary extent. The regeneration of
adsorption substance only takes place during the time-out of the compressor operation.
The amount of air for the regeneration is different for the compressor DK 50 2V and for DK 50 PLUS.
For a long time reliable function of the drier, it is necessary to ensure its intermittent operation in a specified
mode!

5. ASSEMBLY
AND
INSTALLATION
The equipment is factory-mounted to a corresponding compressor. The installation of a drier to
compressors made so far should be consulted with the manufacturer.
6. PRODUCT OPERATION
A correct function of the drier depends on the compressor’s operation and no attendance is required. The
pressure vessel need not be sludged, because the pressure air entering the air chamber is already dried.
For a correct function of the drier it is necessary to proceed as follows:
•
Observe an intermittent operation of the compressor in the 60% mode. The time of compressor
operation should not, however, last longer than 10 minutes.
•
Operate the compressor so that it works within the range of the on/off pressure of a pressure-operated
switch set by the manufacturer. When the compressor works at a lower working pressure than that of
