s.
The impact of noise can cause damage to hea-
ring.
Keep the noise emissions and vibrations to a
minimum.
•
Only use appliances which are in perfect wor-
king order.
•
Service and clean the appliance regularly.
•
Adapt your working style to suit the appliance.
•
Do not overload the appliance.
•
Have the appliance serviced whenever ne-
cessary.
•
Switch the appliance off when it is not in use.
Caution!
Residual risks
Even if you use this electric power tool in
accordance with instructions, certain resi-
dual risks cannot be rules out. The following
hazards may arise in connection with the
equipment’s construction and layout:
1. Lung damage if no suitable protective dust
mask is used.
2. Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protec-
tion is used.
5. Before starting the equipment for
the
fi
rst time
Make sure the machine stands securely, i.e. bolt it
to a workbench or solid base. There are holes for
this purpose in the machine pedestal.
•
The saw table must be correctly fitted.
•
All covers and safety devices must be proper-
ly fitted before the equipment is switched on.
•
It must be possible for the blade to run freely.
•
When working with wood that has been previ-
ously processed, watch out for foreign bodies
such as nails or screws, etc.
•
Before you actuate the On/Off switch, make
sure that the saw blade is correctly fitted and
that the machine‘s moving parts run smoothly.
•
Check that the voltage on the rating plate is
the same as your supply voltage before you
connect the equipment to the power supply.
Caution! Pull out the power plug before doing any
maintenance or assembly work on the equipment.
Caution! Wear safety gloves when contact with
the blade (26) is likely.
5.1 Assembly (Fig. 1-4)
Warning! Make allowance for the weight of the
machine during the assembly work and arrange
for another person to help!
•
Fit the 4 rubber feet (4) to the corners of the
pedestal (5).
•
Once the machine is standing securely, pull
out the tilt guard (27) as far as it will go.
•
To be able to fit the saw table (15) past the
blade, you must first dismantle the guide rail
(37) from the saw table (15). To do so, slacken
the locking screws (38) on the bottom side
of the saw table (15). Remove the guide rail
(37).
•
Mount the saw table (15) from the rear of the
machine.
Note! The screw (20) must be inserted
through the recess in the saw table mount
(14) (see Fig. 4a).
•
Place the sleeve (19) and the wing handle
(18) onto the screw (20) and secure the saw
table (15).
•
To dismantle, proceed in reverse order.
5.2 Tensioning the blade (Fig. 2/5)
•
Note! You must remove the tension from the
blade when the bandsaw is not going to be
used for some time. It is important therefore to
check the blade tension before you switch on
the saw.
•
To be able to check the blade tension, open
the two side covers (12) by slackening the
fastening handles (13).
•
The correct blade tension can be tested by
applying pressure to the side of the blade
with your finger, somewhere in the middle
between the two blade pulleys (7, 8). You
should be able to deflect the blade (26) only
very slightly (approx. 1-2 mm).
•
When the blade is tensioned enough, it will
produce a metallic sound when tapped.
•
Turn the tightening screw (9) clockwise to ten-
sion the blade (26).
•
After you have adjusted the blade tension,
check the blade’s running position on the two
