2. GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The following basic safety action measures
should be taken when using electric tools to
protect the user from electric shocks and

the risk of injury and fire. Read and follow these
instructions before using this electric tool. Do not lose
these safety regulations.

For safe working:

Keep your work area tidy

- An untidy work area invites accidents.

Make allowance for ambient conditions

- Do not expose electric tools to rain. Never use
electric tools in damp or wet locations. Provide
good lighting. Never use electric tools anywhere
where there is a risk of fire or explosion.

Guard against electric shock

- Avoid bodily contact with earthed parts (e.g.
pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators).

Keep children away

- Do not allow other persons to touch the electric
tool or cable. Keep other persons away from your
work area.

Keep your electric tools in a safe place

- When not in use, electric tools should be kept in
a dry place out of reach of children at a good
height or under lock and key.

Do not overload your electric tools

- Tools work better and safer when used within

their quoted capacity range. Never overload the
tool unnecessarily as this could pose a risk to the
operator or impair the proper functioning of the
tool.

Use the right electric tool

- Never use tools or attachments with insufficient
power for the job in hand. Never use the electric
tool for purposes other than that for which it is
designed.

Wear suitable work clothes

- Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they
may get caught in moving parts. Rubber gloves
and non-slip shoes are recommended when wor-
king outdoors. Wear a hair net if you have long
hair.

Wear eye protection and ear plugs at all times.

Wear safety goggles.

splinters, chips and dust emitted by the tool
can cause loss of sight.

Personal safety equipment such as a breathing
mask (especially for work which generates dust),
gloves, apron and a helmet should also be worn.

Harmful dust can be generated when
working on metals and other materials.
Never use the tool to work on any
materials containing asbestos!

Do not use the cable for purposes for which
is not designed

- Never carry your electric tool by its cable. Do
not use the cable to pull the plug out of the
socket. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp
edges.

Secure your workpiece

- Use clamps or a vise to hold the workpiece

hand and also means that you have both hands
free to operate the electric tool.
