Solution

Digital Shredder Will Not Power On:

For  those  units  equipped  with  a  power  supply  that
allows  for  the  manual  switching  of  the  voltage
input, please ensure the unit is set to the appropriate
voltage  for  your  location  before  connecting  the
power cord.

Check  Power  Cord  Connection.    Ensure  that  the
outlet in use is active and functional.

Printer Will Not Power On:

Make  sure  battery  is  properly  installed.    (Consult
Printer Manual) Ensure A/C adapter is connected to
printer  and  functional  wall  outlet.    Confirm  that
Printer is Not “Asleep” in Power Save Mode.

Printer is Connected Properly, but failed to Print
Certificate:

Printer will go into an Automatic Power Save mode
after  five  (5)  idle  minutes  on  battery  power,  and
after sixty (60) idle minutes on A/C power.  Power
button must be pressed to reactivate Printer.

Additionally,  check  the  level  of  the  tape  cartridge.
Replace if required.

Hard Drive Does Not Fit Personality block:

Try  the  drive  in  another  block.    Never  force  the
drive.  If no block in your possession works, please
consult  your  Sales  Representative  to  see  if  another
block is available for your drive type.

Note:  Some pre-2000 drives may not be compatible
with available Personality Blocks.

Hard Drive Failed to be Recognized:

Remove  the  block  with  the  hard  drive  in  question.
Reconnect  the drive  to the block confirming a firm
connection.  Reinsert the block and attached drive to
the unit.

USB Drive Connectivity:

Some  USB  drives  may  experience  lack  of
connectivity  with  the  Digital  Shredder,  impeding  a
Software  Update  or  Log  Export.    Linux  Certified
USB drives are recommended.

Date/Time is Not Correct in Log or Certificate:

Proceed  to  the  DS-200  Main  Menu.    Select  the
Date/Time  button.    Enter  the  correct  Date/Time  in
the appropriate fields.  Correct Date/Time will now
be reported.

Lost Username/Password:

If  a  User-level  username  and/or  password  is  lost,
please have an Administrator reset this account.

If all Admin-level users are unable to log-in, please
contact your Service Representative.

Unit Will Not Power Down:

All  active  processes  must  be  completed  before  the
unit will power down.
