Cleaning the Sensor Optics,

Step Action
1 Remove the three thumbscrews from the sensor cover.
2 Remove the sensor cover.
3 Remove the sampling head from the bottom of the sensor.
4 Inspect the sensor cover for residual dust.
Note: Use one of the following methods to clean the
surface. Blow the dust away with low pressure air, or,
Wipe with a soft lint-free cloth.
5 Inspect the glass lens covers for dust.
Note: Use one of the following methods to clean the glass lens.
Blow the dust away with low pressure air, or,
Use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol and wipe with foam tip
swabs.
CAUTION: Do not spill any alcohol into the internals of the
Haz-Dust SM-4000.
6 Replace the sampling head.
7 Replace the sensor cover.
8 Tighten the three thumbscrews snugly into place.
